If you’re new to this blog, I’ll update you on my relationship with this couple. I was there for their first baby, their second, and now their third child. What an honor it’s been to capture each moment in their lives.
While I take my job of photographing births very seriously, I find that my heartstrings are tugged a little more intensely when the birth clients are my close friends. Especially when you get to travel through the joys as well as the pain those friends endure.
I’m happy to say that this blogpost is all about joy and very little pain. In fact, the moment Mia was born, I believe that it truly was a ‘brand new day’ for this family.
Please take the time to watch this birthstory video. It captures their day more than any words I could put together.
When I got to the hospital, they were in great spirits and ready to meet their little girl.
It wasn’t long (AT ALL) before it was time to push and Mia was born just seconds later. Mom got to pull Mia out and lay her onto her chest herself. I had the privilege of doing the same with one of my sons and it’s an amazing experience.
This is the truth: I have never EVER seen dad smile SO big. I know his hat obstructs total view of his face but there’s no mistake that he’s experiencing true joy at this very moment.
Big sis gets to meet little sis!
And of course, the rest of the family was also there to celebrate Mia’s arrival.
Literally a doll. Isn’t she sweet? (You can see more at their newborn session.)
Congratulations on your newest addition!
